7th May: UK Super Pro ET racer Dave Ward and the Rampage team had a dream
start to their season at Shakespeare County Raceway, with the Springspeed Nationals event win in their
first outing with a dragster acquired over the off-season:
The team were a bit apprehensive and not sure what to expect of the new race car. On Saturday morning Simon Rowland, the former driver
of the Formula Tanker car, turned up to give some sound advice and help which was much appreciated. The first ever run for Dave Ward in
the dragster was in the first qualifying session which resulted in number two position. After the sixth qualifying session we were fifth.
Race day dawned and against all expectations we managed to progress to the final round against Dave Catton, driving Paul Marston's dragster.
Unfortunately for Dave Catton he pulled a red light and handed the race win to Dave in the Rampage car. The team were ecstatic and couldn't
believe what had happened.
All in all a dream come true for the whole team and thanks must go to Jeff, Adrian, Ian, Graham, Felicity, Daniel and Simon and also to our sponsors
Smiths Of Bloxham. We're looking forward to our next outing at the SPRC Summer nationals. " -
